To what end? Like just compete in the given series, or be converted to do the other form of racing?

Anything can be anything you want it to be. Just dream it, and make it so.

Suspension and gear ratios. Those are going to be your real hang ups. suspensions optomized for high speed and track use will not perform optimally on a rally course and vise-versa. The limited travel and ground clearance associated with most track tuned suspensions could quickly lead to loss of control or even car damage on a rally course. The taller, softer, longer travel suspension thats ideal for rally might not be quite as unsafe on a road course, but the increased body movements will hamper high-g transitions on high-grip suffaces. Also, rally requires a much higher premium be placed on acceleration than top speed. Many rally cars are typically geared to have a top speed of somewhere around 120-130 MPH. this is redline in top gear, not drag or power limited. Even on a slow course this top speed would be innadequate for most touring car races, even if the car were competetive in the top-speed department with that gearing, it’s engine and driveline would be operating at or closer to maximum all the time leading to potential issues with cooling, durability, and maybe most importantly fuel economy.
